What a great way to kick off 2014! The Detroit team recently attended the Connected World Conference in Chicago, where our Virtual Technician™ On Board Diagnostic System was recognized with a Silver Award in the Remote Diagnostics category, together with our partners AT&T and Zonar Systems.
While the technology behind Virtual Technician is impressive, the Connected World Awards serve to honor innovations that solve critical issues with quantifiable results. And that’s really the goal of what we do every day for our customers – develop solutions that make a direct impact. And with Virtual Technician already installed in more than 70,000 Freightliner trucks equipped with Detroit engines, we are helping drivers and fleet managers make smart decisions about service and repairs.
For example, we know that with Virtual Technician, we can save downtime for the customer, in fact on eight out of 10 fault code events we instruct customers to continue driving and address the issue when it is convenient – that’s a significant savings that translates into real dollars. We’ve also had customers tell us that “they will never buy another truck without Virtual Technician.”
It’s that type of response that drives us to always develop and offer new products that provide our customers with the best competitive advantage. And it’s why we now have a full suite of proprietary telematics solutions through Detroit Connect – to give our customers the most powerful tools that keep them out of the shop and on the road.
It’s an absolute honor to receive recognition from the Connected World Conference – and it’s even more satisfying to know that because of solutions like Virtual Technician, eight out of 10 Freightliner customers Demand Detroit.
